Hudson River Valley Art Workshops
Since 1982, Hudson River Valley Art Workshops (HRVAW) has been welcoming artists and instructors from around the world to the historic Greenville Arms 1889 Inn to learn, create, and relax! At our facility you'll find an all inclusive setting of a 24-hour climate-controlled art studio, unique lodging, and on-site meals in the beautiful Hudson River Valley region of Upstate New York.
Our family-run arts center hosts 15 rooms with private baths and the majority feature house-made quilts, providing a feeling of home most other venues can't match. Workshops are hosted from March through December of each year and include everything from traditional painting techniques to mixed media abstract art to a wide range of fiber and art quilt options.
Our Status During The COVID-19 Pandemic
We are monitoring the current recommendations from the CDC and mandates from New York State each day. The determination about whether or not each scheduled workshop will proceed is made just prior to the 30-day mark, after which enrolled students are notified. We have also temporarily adjusted our cancellation and transfer policy during this time and you can find that information on our FAQ page.
As a small family business built around gathering artists together, the pandemic and necessary steps to be socially responsible during it have brought our business to a stand still. So, we’ve launched a new online shop through our Greenville Arms website to offer everyone the opportunity to order a little stay-home style workshop experience. In addition to gift sets of our chocolates and mugs, house-made granola, and super soft t-shirts – we’ve curated a variety of one-of-a-kind art and fiber art supply kits based on our nearly 40 years of experience working with incredible artists from all media types.
