So many decisions go into making a successful painting. We will look at several of them over the days we have together: Color choices, capturing the light, designing to tell a story, how to add drama and so much more.
We will be learning about:
- how to overcome local color and see in (more) color
- using the reference photo (usually “drab”) to advantage (“fab!”)
- the beauty of color harmony
- how valuable grays can be in the color choices you make
- capturing the elusive light that brings your painting to life
- ways to tell an interesting story
- designing for impact
All of these elements will help you turn your paintings from drab to fab.
All mediums welcome.
