Here’s the anatomy of the day today:

I got up at 5:00 AM!!!

I had coffee, decaf. I ate some granola. I then made granola because Tish and Eliot and I have been chowing down on it. I then went to Greenville Park, close to our inn. (Tish and Eliot built this park. We have the only complete trail map in existence.) Got lost. Walked the dog at the park. Spot loved it. Then, that’s now 7:30.

(Must have losts some time here. It’s 12:00 all of a sudden and Sysco has arrived and the wine guy is delivering cases of wine.)

Tish puts in 12 WOGs. That’s little chickens to you non-restaurant types. Tish is the previous owner.

I order salmon from John, our fishmonger. I decided to use a soy/maple sauce and use the escargot butter that Tish and I made for my peas. Nice butter. (Kim will have to tell you her day. She was flat out busy too. Yowee!!)

(Not sure I got this in order.)

Tish and I prepped stock. We made gallons of stock. I ran around a lot. People started checking in. I carried a lot of luggage.

Tish finished dinner. I helped. This was really Tish’s show today. Tomorrow I cook.

Eliot and Tish plated the dinner. We rushed it out the door. John, our head waiter (I bought him a serving apron that has his name and head waiter on it. He loves it) and Vanessa, one of our waitresses served. I garnished. I really shined when I garnished the cheese cake with strawberry sauce. Did some amazing decorations. Did a smiley face on one of them. We were getting punchy.

And through this all, our wonderful assistant innkeeper, Kimberly, washed dishes. She was fantastic. Saved our bacon. Our high school dishwashers cannot wash dishes during the week. 🙁

Fetched wine. Sold it by the glass and by the bottle. Joked with the artists and had a great time.

Cleaned up the kitchen.

Writing blog. Come on people, how many innkeepers have blogs?

I remember Kim running around too. I gave a speech about all of our work on the buildings and property. Now it’s bed time. Nighty night.
