STANLEY MALTZMAN

Stanley Maltzman is a highly acclaimed landscape artist, author and educator. He is the author of Drawing Nature and Drawing Trees.

"This workshop is designed to further enhance the students appreciation of and for the winter landscape. You will study the beauty of one of natures marvels, trees without foliage, and how to incorporate them into your winter landscape. The landscape in winter may look cold and barren to the casual observer but you will learn to see the beautifyl colors that are ever present. These colors will make make your landscape more alive and beautiful. You will work from sketches you create outdoors on location together with photographs taken with film or digital cameras. You will be shown how to combine your sketches and photographs to make interesting compositions which will become your painting. These lessons are used collectively to show how to make use of the photograph and not have the photograph use you!"
