Ted’s 30 year background as a graphic designer is reflected in works of strong design and inventive use of color, rendered in a semi-abstract, readily identifiable manner. He works in transparent watercolor, as well as opaque and transparent acrylic. Ted is recipient of over 95 national awards. He is a firm believer in helping students discover the natural talent within.

Each day of this class, Ted will do two side-by-side demonstrations, one realistic starting from a thumbnail approach, the second a semi-abstract or abstract moving from the use of transparent watercolor into acrylics and other mediums. Each day new water media techniques are introduced. Principles of design and composition, along with the fresh use of color, work to create more exciting paintings.
