Master pastelist Richard McKinley will demonstrate the techniques and fundamentals necessary to structure a successful plein air painting and how to determine the necessary finishing touches that make a painting work. Working on location you will learn how to produce a concise field sketch, a successful under-painting and improve your ability to accurately see value relationships and color harmonies when painting on location.  Back in the studio you will learn how to resolve a field sketch into a finished painting. Through individual attention, group critiques and class discussions you will leave with a clear understanding of the universal basics of painting. Richard McKinley is a dedicated instructor.
