5-Day Outdoors Class

Explore the joy of painting watercolors on location. The New York country area gives you a wide range of beautiful spot to create the best watercolors imaginable. Judi Wagner teaches you the basics while encouraging you to be as creative in approach as possible. For example, figures in the landscape, abstract color patterns, vignettes, dominant colors, brush control, and what to do with the greens in the landscape. Demonstrations start each day, then plenty of time to paint on location. Critiques back in the studio are done using acetate overlays to suggest changes to your paintings. Judi shows you actual paintings to illustrate all of the ideas she teaches. Come and join the fun and creativity in this class.

Judi Wagner holds a BFA and a Masters from Parsons School of Design in New York City. She is a painter, author, and teacher who works primarily in watercolor en plein aire. Her award winning paintings have been featured in prestigious national shows, in books and in magazines. She taught in Europe for Parsons for five years and has conducted workshops throughout the US and abroad. Her teaching and paintings appear in four teaching videos and other authored books. She co-authored two books for North Light Publishers; “Painting with the White of the Paper” and “The Watercolor Fixit Book.”
